Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is a private, non-profit organization whose primary mission is to promote cooperation among the nations of the world. It was founded in 1910 and is the oldest American think tank in the field of international relations. It is considered the third most influential think tank in the world after the Brookings Institution and Chatham House.
It is named after American businessman Andrew Carnegie, who wrote a check for $1.5 million on May 11, 1903 to build the Peace Palace.
The Foundation has offices in Washington (headquarters), Moscow (Carnegie Moscow Center), Beijing (Carnegie Center for Global Policy – Tsinghua), Beirut (Carnegie Middle East Center), Brussels (Carnegie European Center, or Carnegie Europe).
